I understand the method of release for this spell list lore overhaul helps build excitement. Unfortunately the side effect is a lot of non sorcerers see this as a daily reminder of how much love we're getting. If not for this release perhaps in future ones, all the changes to one spell list ought to be released at once for the masses to digest. Just a thought...

He actually has a point though. Based on the tease week 5 already has a sorcerer update listed. Obviously thats not all the updates but with 6 weeks or so left they would have to seriously increase the daily updates to give other professions a chance of the same level of Dev at this.
Its a great time to be playing no doubt but at this point I can see others start to scratch their head

That's one of the challenges of working through backlog of any kind - each profession has some work pending, I'm sure. But the advent of recent work (before HSN) on sorcery, spiritual, paladin and squares would suggest (to me!) that those backlogs will be 'freshest' in the teams' collective minds. Therefore, the most 'efficiency' can be gained there. And as a result, most visible change is likely to be seen there. The doctoral level discussion is how to actually avoid such a scenario when pursuing innovation. . .
A very large part of the releases is likely not to be 'seen' or considered appropriately: the formal documentation and work going on with the website / wiki. Most of us players will consider that to be 'administrative homework' and as such discount a large portion of it. What we as players may not know is how much of that work actually sets up some future efforts (2016 WWW anyone?)
While I think Sven probably should get to know Rolf a bit more before offering such potentially cheeky advice - his advice is pretty sound. We just might be waiting longer than 6 weeks to discover everything that is going to be affected by this massive undertaking.

I agree and I disagree.
[LNet]-You: "I think it's just a different release style for more hype. Consider the 1600 circle updates last year that came as a batch"
[LNet]-You: "not that the hype or release style is bad at all"
[LNet]-GSIV:Dreaven: "I agree, Kaldonis."
[LNet]-GSIV:Dreaven: "When they released monks they just released monks, they didn't release one spell a day."
There's more than one way to skin a cat. And if sorcerers are reviled and hated from the release cycle, we can just thank the dev team for pushing our RP agenda.

Put another way, I've seen some people claim that nothing interesting is happening during HSN. I was kind of amazed, and not just because of the sorcery updates. Two that stand out to me were the SEND updates and the MEDITATE for monks.
I actually think the "Hot Sorcerer Nights" is really funny. I get the point, since people have said "sorcerers will never stop complaining" which implicitly referenced the 709 change (though the same player then made a bad and ugly thread about 709...go figure). And I did add to those complaints to be sure, but I think it's a derogatory term to call my posts mere complaints; they were complaints, but I tried to make them more constructive criticisms and explanations of how and why I cared, rather than focusing on name calling and moping about the state of the game itself.
The bottom line is that at least some of us are really appreciating HSN. For me, I've enjoyed the release style, because it keeps me checking the forums every day when I wake up. Assuming I'm far from alone, the excitement of the event has spread to at least some players in our community. Who knows, this might inspire existing players to roll up their first sorcerer.

The complaints here are just silly. Folks, it's like two weeks out of a two and a half month release cycle. It only looks like it's all sorcery because we're in the middle of it. Once it's all over, we'll all be looking back and evaluating it based on all of the releases.
People just need to slow their roll a bit and keep some perspective.

The meditate update is decent, but no one plays a monk so...it helps like 3 people. The send update is a nice QoL update, but isn't nearly as sexy as the sorcerer changes. The STAMINA update is likely the best non-sorcerer update so far. Beyond those three you have some lore stuff, a paladin ability you have to die to use and a feature 90% of the population already had because of lich (sorter). So...yeah. Those are great and all but...not the same ballpark. HSN has basically been sorcerer revamp, and we're on week 5, out of 11. When wyrom said "Our main focus is to bring some long-awaited releases", i don't think people's immediate thought was "yes! new stride and iron boar hide!" (not to downplay those things, but...
The release cycle is great for sorcs or people who might want to try one, and i think everyone does like that dev of this scope is happening and being released. But if you can't understand how people might just be a bit tired of day 37 of yet-another-class-that-isn't-mine announcements, i don't know what to tell you other than hi...welcome to the earth? That's human nature.
I love the changes, especially the animate one today, and play a sorcerer regularly...but even i'm just like ok, we get it. One day we will tell stories of how Wyrom lit the sorcerer HSN candle but instead of releasing updates for 1 week, it lasted 8 glorious weeks. It was an HSN miracle.

tl;dr - people like dev overall, but are eager to see non-sorcerer "long-awaited releases", released.
