Tried to sell either lesser orc or lesser burrow orc skins at the Wehnimer's Furrier. Sale was rejected (I forgot to save the log file to see what the rejection was). I looked in bag, saw the three skins. Walked to Town Square East, looked in the bag again to figure out what happened, and they were gone. Wasn't anywhere long enough for them to be stolen, maybe 5 seconds from the check at the furrier to looking in the pack again. Don't believe I was over the 50k limit in a day, but even if I was, still a bit of a bug somewhere.
If you just did "look in bag" and saw three skins, there may have been a bag on the ground inside the furrier shop.
This is why "my" is the best/most powerful word in GemStone: 'put MY expensive claidhmore in MY backpack' can save you much stress.
I nearly always try to remember to use an adjective at all times, in addition to 'my': if i am looking in my 's'kin sack, I may have bought a custom one made of either 's'ilk or 's'atin, so that the alliteration helps me remember where things are.

Took me awhile, but I was finally able to recreate. You get skins and sell them till you get the error "You ask Dakris if he would like to buy an orc hide. Dakris stammers, "S-s-sorry name, but I d-don't think I can g-g-give you anything for that." Put it in a bag, remove the bag, sell the bag. You get told "You ask Dakris if he would like to buy the contents of a grey canvas mining pack. Dakris takes the canvas mining pack, inspects the contents carefully and removes the item he is interested in. Dakris hands it back to you and says, "Quit wasting my time name!"" And then the skin disappears. I'm not sure what triggers the failstate that keeps you from selling items in the first place, it doesn't appear related to the 50k cap per day.
Here is what I think happened.
You skinned an orc, but the value of the skin was 0.
When you sold the bag, the furrier takes all the skins from the bag, but since those skins have 0 value, you get nothing in return for him taking them.
It stems from the lower treasure rewards that F2P accounts get.
