While this one is definitely my favorite, it doesn't seem to directly relate to the subject matter. It may be a tad confusing to newcomers.

Or not. Just my opinion.

>>Gemstone IV: A world beyond graphics

Problem with this one though is that it makes it sound like the the game is more than graphics, which tacitly implies graphics exist in the game in the first place, so that might be misleading.

But they do exist to an extend. The text, the front ends, the bestiary in-game pics. All are technically graphics, everything on a computer is a graphic of one sort or another. The beauty of a text game is that it doesn't rely on the computer to render the 99% of those graphics, but on the mind.

Gemstone IV: Graphics of the mind.

Visualization of the text and roleplaying are both exercises of the mind

While that is true technically, honestly anyone coming into this game with the expectation of graphics will be disappointed, so it is better not to confuse folks in that direction.

What I was trying for is that Gemstone IV is not bound and limited to graphics, while visually appealing, they lack depth, character and at one point everyone in the same class looks just like everyone else. Gemstone IV moves beyond the limitation of visual graphics and allows for every character to be unique. What other game can you find a maul hurling halfing (or is it a halfling hurling maul?)with butterfly tattooes covering every part of their body except for the words born to kill tattooed across it's forehead.

If it weren't for those darned Transformers I would suggest...

technically, beyond does not imply that there is graphics.

?preposition 1. on, at, or to the farther side of: Beyond those trees you'll find his house.
2. farther on than; more distant than: beyond the horizon; beyond the sea.
3. outside the understanding, limits, or reach of; past: beyond comprehension; beyond endurance; beyond help.
4. superior to; surpassing; above: wise beyond all others.
5. more than; in excess of; over and above: to stay beyond one's welcome.
?adverb
6. farther on or away: as far as the house and beyond.

I was alluding to #4 in the prepostional phrase

>technically, beyond does not imply that there is graphics<

Technically I agree that is the case, but I am talking about how most people would perceive the meaning.

Ask someone who knows nothing at all about Gemstone what that slogan says to them, and I think you might find the assumption would be there that graphics do exist but that the game has more than just the graphics to recommend it.

Just something to be considered is all.
