So, I have some questions on Felthrops raffles today, before I decide if I will buy a ticket. I would hate not having an enchantable/flaring item if I won, but don't want to wait around if I don't have anything worth the prize.

Raffle 1, Flares:
Adding flares to a weapon or armor piece of your choice. This year's flare choices are as follows: +1 mana (runestaves only, to a maximum of +2 for runestaves with existing mana flares), electricity, and grapple. (Piece must be +35 or below and must not currently have flares, weighting/padding, or a functional script). Final price will be dependent upon item chosen. Winner must arrive promptly to claim this prize.

So, this confuses me, because it says that the existing item "must not currently have flares, weighting/padding, or a functional script", yet indicates that he can do "+2 for runestaves with existing mana flares", which seem to be contradictory. So, my question is, what properties/scripts will prevent a weapon from having flares added? Is it only the mana flares that can be improved, or are there other flares that can be changed/improved? Would wand holding/enhancive/fusion staves be eligible?

Raffle 2, Enchanting:
Enchanting (adding +5 to) a weapon. Enchanting restrictions are as follows: 1. No weapons with critical/damage weighting greater than "heavy" (10 points). 2. No weapons with scripts that are anything more than pure fluff. 3. The maximum resulting enchant allowed is +40. Naginatas are treated as having a plus of (XX + 20) for these purposes. 4. Final price will be determined at the time of redemption. Winner must arrive promptly to claim this prize."

So, for this one, you can have heavy weighting/sighting on an item, but can it be an enhancive item? Not sure if enhancive items are considered "scripts that are anything more than pure fluff"? Do flares, whether they are mana/acuity/nervestaff prevent an item from being enchanted? What about Voln armor or fusion?

Thanks for any clarification on this. I would ask Felthrop in game, but I'm sure the wagon will be mobbed and I'd hate to carry a bunch of items on the off chance one of them would be able to be enchanted, or worse, enchant something that could easily be done by a wizard because I don't have any eligible items.

Runestaves with mana flares (of +1) are separate from that exclusion list. Weapons with flares are not eligible for the flare raffle (no swapping them out, you need to have current ones removed first through a seaprate removal service).

Property/scripts that will prevent a weapon from having flares added were just quoted ("must not currently have flares, weighting/padding, or a functional script").

No other flare types (other than acuity which is not offered this go round) can be changed/improved.

Wandholding/fusion staves are not eligible as those are functioning scripts. Enhancive weapons/gear and runestaves are ok.

Yes, enhancive items are not considered a script.

Flares do not prevent an item from being enchanted. Nervestaff 'flares" are from a functionals cript and excluded.

Voln armor and fusion are both functional script and not eligible for this raffle.

Basically enchant any weapon that is < +40, has no more than +10 points (heavy) crit or damage weighting (if weighted at all), and is not a fusion weapon, splitter, non fluff snake script, blink weapon, or any of several functional scripts that are considered combat or mechanical in nature and not just fluff/messaging type of script.

No problem. To be more specific on, "must not currently have flares, weighting/padding, or a functional script", I already mentioned you can't add flares to something already flared (except for the specific runestaff only flares that can go up in strength x amount per time) but the reason for weighted/padding items being excluded is they take up the exact same slot on an item as flares.

Functionally scripted items that have a clear slot could have flares added to them, they are just not approved for this specific raffle. Generally, it would require certain pay events and the approval/limitations vary by event.
