I'm not sure if this has ever been asked and or approved/denied recently...
Can 220 be made refreshable?
Reason: Mostly when in the middle of roleplaying in some way that is extended within the confines of a major sanctuary, having to or being forced to exit so that one can recast is distracting.
Thanks for the consideration :-)
It's amazing what people will do when they think you can't see them.

>>It looks like a question to me.<<
Then I'll bite and pretend it's a serious one.
The answer is because things sometimes have a tendancy to go unnoticed around here.

Example above, as that was 1 year ago (to the day, in fact)
I don't think it's unreasonable to have interest in and desire for some sort of response and or outcome of any sort in this circumstance. Let me be clear that desire for is not demand or expectation.
I like the spell, I would like for it to be better. This suggestion has been made before. This suggestion was ignored before. Perhaps instead of just posting and praying, being more on top of the issue may generate a response.
I find it amusing that the response it generated was a perceivably rude and unneccessary one, however.

The problem isn't the expectation, is how fast you respect a response. Give us time; Oscuro and I were already discussing the idea when you first posted it, but we haven't finalized a decision.

I regret if my passion about the matter came off as demanding. That was not my intent.
The subject died quietly a year ago (as far as I could tell), and I didn't want that to happen again.
I also found the response I recieved from Oscuro entirely unneccessary.
Thank you for the response, Estild. Thank you as well for the consideration.

We've decided against making Major Sanctuary (220) refreshable. The spell makes it a possible to isolate yourself from the rest of the community, so we'd rather not encourage an extended duration (thus need for a refresh). Yes, you can simply recast once it fades, but we're not going to make it easier to accomplish that goal.

This post is old but I'm reading it because it's related to an argument I had about being forced to allow others to locate you when dead.
This idea that you guys have of obliging us to interact with each other is contrary to the nature of developing a character. Not everyone is going to want to interact with the rest of the community, and as a person can create a character as such, they should be given the tools to do so. I may want my bitter old cleric not to have any friends anymore, but to perform duties silently, without exchanging tips, and only when he wants to. Others may want to be completely isolated. Permitting them to do so is expanding roleplay, not diminishing it.

I see this in the complete opposite way. Situations that force interaction are the perfect time to establish your isolationist identity to the community. They create situations where your character is out of their element and we get to see how they react. This is a great way to expand your roleplay!

a) log in somewhere empty and cast 220
b) walk into TC, glance around, sneer, and cast 220
a) is a player being isolationist.
b) is a player roleplaying an isolationist character.
If you want to RP an isolationist character, you have to sit there typing the commands that show that your character is ignoring people. Otherwise it isn't RP, you are just one of the zombies. You, the player, have to interact with the game in order to show that your character isn't interacting with the other characters.
220 has a finite duration to encourage you to do the b) type things from time to time.
Uninteractive characters are probably the most difficult to RP, because you can't RP without interacting with the game, and that tends to create expectations of interaction in other characters.

This, exactly. I wish more people 'got' this. The last time I tried to explain my OOC frustration at trying to interact with a character who acted like an AFK zombie and made no distinction between that and ICly ignoring the attempts at conversation, I was just told to 'roll up a dwarf or elf' if I wanted to get a response, or 'have (my human character) start poking him and he'll kill her if that'll make you happy'. I just gave up at that point.
