I'll copy this post to the human/half-elven folders here in a moment. I'm a bit confused by the resulting bread from the casting of 203, though.

I get that half-elves must cast their 203 based on their culture or something....not certain, really. I'd think if my culture was set to Trauntor, I'd cast mostly human type breads with maybe a single elven one or two based on my being half an elf. I'd think choosing an elven culture would result in the opposite. This isn't the case, currently. Should be in my opinion, though.

Here's what I find really odd. Should breads that I cast, give me messaging that would be at least somewhat pleasing to myself?

>>You take a bite of your hummus-topped bread. >>Slathered with a strange, dense paste, the dried crisp is alien in flavor.
The spiritual nourishment has a replenishing effect upon you.

>>You take a bite of your hummus-topped bread. Thin and dry, the crisp of bread is largely tasteless.

Both of those messages I am getting don't only show that I don't like them, but additionally that the flavor is completely foreign and lifeless to me. WHAT?!

Half-elves can summon bread types based upon their culture. For their culture type (elven, dark elven, sylvankind, or human), they can only summon that type: i.e. a half-elven with an elven culture can only summon elven bread types.

This was a logical progression (to account for culture) in racial foods that didn't previously exist in the food system. When racial foods are created, they can have flavor messaging for a specific race, then different messaging for all other races. Since the system doesn't account for culture, the end result is that a half-elf can summon a human food item, but they'll receive the non-human flavor messaging.

To summarize, it's a problem with the food system in how it handles race/culture and not Manna (203).

That's a fairly reasonable response. In that it's not an error with the spell....thank you. Of course, the dilemma then must be an error somewhere. If by culture I should enjoy the food, then simply put, it shouldn't be foreign to me. I posted it in the half-elven and human folders. There's a chance it might get reviewed there, thank you.

Funny, though, how it was occurring before I ever chose a culture. I was a generic half elf out of the gate, and only chose Trauntor about 10 days ago, at most. It would appear, to me, that 203 defaults to human base for half-elves.

Correct, if you haven't selected a culture, it will default to human. (As a half-elf, we know you're part human, but we don't know what the other part is until you select a culture!)

I don't know much about this, but you're saying there are no erithi-elf hybrids or giantman-elf hybrids? -Estild

There are specific racial groups that can and cannot breed together. I forget offhand which is which.

I see where it says that they are human-elf hybrids but it doesn't say that there can't be erithi-elves or erithi-humans and that was really my question. I know half-krolvin specifically can be from a number of species.

I don't remember which combinations are valid and which aren't, but Estild was just pointing out that for this purpose, it doesn't matter, since anything other than elf/human isn't available to player characters. The half-elf player race is specifically that combination.
