Any word on this getting fixed yet? It's been almost two years in the abandoned shop issue and it's frustrating that I can't purchase one where there is obviously shops that closed their doors for a long time.. Trying to get one from an actual active player is few and far between and cost a ton of silver for a decently located one...

I've taken over as the playershop guru, and getting these fixed is my top priority. I'm going back and rewriting a fair bit of the backend right now, and am adding some new features as well as getting the evictions of abandoned shops back up and running.

BTW, if folks have suggestions for new features, now's the time to throw them out. I've got a list of things I want to include, but hearing what you all want is always helpful.

One area I've done some tweaking already is item certification - bards will be able to certify the item's weight and whether or not it crumbles, and clerics/paladins will be able to assess and certify whether an item is sancted.

Something cool would be alchemy-jar like shop containers (think candy store, but full of bounty gems). Instead selling the entire jar, you'd buy the container for an appropriate sum, it would automatically be put it in the shop (like the current shop containers), and then load it up with the same item (any item that fits in an alchemy jar). And then customers would buy them one at a time from the jar.

IE:

shop price globular jar 10000
shop sell diamond in globular jar
>You add your diamond to the globular jar, for 10,000 silvers.

get globular jar
>You ask about the price of the items in the globular jar, and the clerk informs you that they cost 10,000 silvers.

buy globular jar
>You hand over 10,000 silvers and grab an uncut diamond out of the globular jar.

Currently the system is designed to both take a percentage of profits (tax) and also rent (profit!). Is there any plan to update either of these values (%, monthly, one-or-the-other?)

1) I'd love to have a recent sales history log for my shop. What was sold, for how much, and to who.

2) Making item weight and capacity available to the buyer through inspection would be great as well. I always put this information on my shop sign so adding this would free up space for other messages/information on my signs.

Oo, also:

It'd be cool if we could go to shops from the outside with 'go <owner's name>.' No clue how feasible that one is though.

No plans to change those values at the moment.

The 'alchemy jar' style containers are an interesting thought. I'll add that to the feature wishlist.

Having a 'last X items sold' page in the shop manifest is on my wishlist to add.

Weight is coming. I'll have to look at capacity, but it should be doable.

The ability to stack critter parts, regardless of value, so long as they're priced the same and are from the same critter. As it stands, you can't do "a pile of rolton hides." Instead, a relatively small number of them fills your whole shop.

>>>I'd love to have a recent sales history log for my shop. What was sold, for how much, and to whom.>>>

Along these lines, I would love some type of notice when I log in where someone runs over and gives me an accounting of what's happened in my shop since the last time I logged in.

i.e. the little minimum wage nymph who runs your shop rushes by from her 5 minute break to let you know you have sold the following items:
a forest green brigandine for 10,000,000 silvers
3 uncut diamonds for 10,000 each

The other item that would be handy is the ability to SHOP INVENTORY from anywhere. Also, for the Inventory to give me all 3 rooms at once, not have to run into each room to get the info. I can't remember if you can have shops in multiple cities, so maybe it would need to be SHOP INVENTORY ICEMULE or something like that.

Maybe a notification system that let's you know when you have under x number of items for sale would be good. We could SHOP COUNT SET or something so that we can set a threshold to remind us we need to restock the shelves.

My preference would be to be able to review this through a shop manifest. If there is going to be someone running over every time I log in the I would like to see a flag to toggle this feature on/off.

I'm with Robert, I'd rather make the "sales report" a page in the manifest.

I think I actually agree as well, a sales report would be better. I guess I just like the thrill of knowing something sold :)

A while back, wasn't there a Sales option under Shop? And there were plans to have it list what had been sold since the last time the owner did the Shop Sales command? I seem to remember trying this, several times, in hopes it had been implemented, and then it just disappeared.
