In several major cities, Wehnimer's Landing, Ta'Vaalor, Icemule
there are Consignment Houses that allow players
to buy and sell equipment while the seller is off exploring the world
or even logged out completely.

Each item placed on the auction house will remain there for 48 hours and
then returned to you upon visiting the consignment broker if there are not bids
if no bids you will be charged a nominal fee of .5% for the return of items

Each house is managed by a Consignment Broker who will allow you to buy,
sell, search, identify, or view items for sale. The Broker also charges
a commission of 2.5% for any item posted, and 2.5% for any item purchased.

Consignment Brokers will respond to the "VEND" command and offer the
following options:

vend [buy | sell | modify | list |cancel | collect | search | identify]

help VEND LIST Displays a list of your items on the auction house

help VEND SELL Hold item in right hand to sell item at fixed price

help VEND CANCEL Cancel an item that has no yet been bid upon
help VEND COLLECT Collect your silvers
help VEND SEARCH search for items to be bid upon
help VEND IDENTIFY identify an item in your right hand
