Halfling cleric with a lance.

Hmm. Adjustments to that scenario? halfling and cleric should stay the same ;)
I want claidhmore there but eonake and white ora never seem to land before claidhmore in a sentence :;grumble:; so my eonake lance calls out for use.

Hmph. What would be my down fall? Bolts? AS?

Lance is no weaker than 2 handers as far as being vulnerable; in either case you lack the defenses of a shield. And as a halfling you may well, depending on your stats, swing it in 5 seconds. There was a cleric named Drumpy who used a lance; eventually converted to Paladin, if I recall. Weapon using clerics tend to fall behind squares and semis in the upper levels, but you should be viable for a decent amount of time.

Hint: if you can get shield training also, you can pick up a white ora Zinnor from teras. It's a grippable polearm, so can be used 1 or 2 handed, depending on whther or not a shield is needed. It doesn't hit as hard as a lance (nothing does except perhaps a claidh), so you can carry them both and switch back and forth as the situation call for it. I have a paladin who does that.

Needless to say, you will want to put your strength quite high, to get a decent weapon AS and reduce encumbrance problems.
