Vesmera asked me to post this issue here, in case any of you had some insights.

I recently bought a mithril naginata from a playershop. I eventually realized it inspected as a modified halberd, so I converted it in the weapon shop chamber. The chamber did its job and subtracted 20 from its AS and added 20 to the AvD. The problem is that the item's creator had set the mithril naginata's original (unconverted) enchant to +5 instead of +25, so when I converted it, I ended up with a -15 enchant, compared to an off-the-shelf 0x naginata.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

>Magic metal naginatas were notoriously inconsistent before the switch. (IIRC, this is one of the reasons the change was made to +20 AvD.) I recommend doing an ASSIST, but I'm not sure you'll get what you ought.

I did assist, but GM Vesmera wasn't comfortable making the changes without consulting a more weapon-savvy GM. I'm awaiting a referral at the moment, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

How was it fixed? Did she just put it at +0 or +5 for the mithril?
