I'm going to take Sleken's advice and stop saying harsh things about Republicans, starting with this post. I planned to use the words "evil" and "stupid," but nice me is replacing those words with "unfair" and "unwise."
<< As Monday's White House budget talks got down to the nitty-gritty, Eric Cantor proposed a series of spending cuts, one of them aimed squarely at college students.
<< The House majority leader, who did most of the talking for the Republican side, said those taking out student loans should start paying interest right away, rather than being able to defer payments until after graduation. It is a big-ticket item that would save $40 billion over 10 years. >>

It's unfair to expect students to start making student loan payments immediately, because students have limited income. And it's an unwise proposal because it would blunt the effectiveness of the program by discouraging what the student loan program is supposed to encourage. Republicans are not big fans of education.
