After intense deliberation, the Artisan's Guild has decided to categorize its members based on their earned ranks in a skill. The levels of artisan have been split into novice, journeyman, skilled, highly skilled, and master artisan. Current ranking may be checked using the ARTISAN command.

Good news.
No if only the new rankings could be combined with the artisan skill in question in order to provide optional after titles.
As in "You see Soandso the Journeyman Blacksmith" or "You see Soandso the Master Shoemaker".
