Title: Desert Strider on 01/20/2011 02:11 PM CST

This actually is an appealing title to me. Yet I find no resources on how to unlock it.

Anyone know by chance?

Just a guess, but I imagine a ton of Survival training is a factor.

Well I'm hoping if any of you rangers out there have access to this title, would you mind spilling the beans on what kinda survival training you have?

I do
Singled at 101 ranks currently in survival.

So not much help there unless you are near cap probably.

dang.. gotta fully double up til 50.

Any chance you recall if it was at 100 ranks or so you actually got it? Or perhaps you had it earlier at 80 ranks? Just curious.

If you have a fixskill to burn you can free up a bunch of points by dropping down a skill, then slowly add points to Suvival until the title is open to you. Once you unlock it, you can put the rest of the points back into whatever you had it in before.

Just noticed that I've unlocked the Sandstrider title. Fortunately, you don't need 100 ranks of Survival or anything like that, since I've managed to get it at 41 ranks of Survival.

I am an archer ranger as well. Hmm, perhaps it also has to do with Climbing and Swimming... 41 Climb and 26 Swim here.

Actually, that makes more sense that it's tied into Climbing and Swimming, since they help you navigate terrain and Sandstrider (and the other titles in that group) all imply terrain mastery.

Might want to work on your Climbing for sure, especially if you're a ranger. There are quite a few spots that require it as you get older.

I have 42 ranks of survival and 30/30 climb and swim, and I don't have the desert strider title. So looks like +40 (at most) survival and somewhere above 30 climbing at least is the key.

Looking at my own skills I think there has to be other factors:

Survival...........................| 190 90
Climbing...........................| 144 44
Swimming...........................| 150 50

Not sure what else is a requirement for the title, just adding some more info.

What's the race/culture of those with Sand Strider & Tundra Warden?

I'm half wondering if you need to be Tehir or Shakat (as either human or half elf) to get Sand Strider.

I'm after the Desert Strider title, looks like I'll need 100+ ranks of survival to obtain it.

I have Desert Strider and I'm a giantman. 101 ranks of survival, 75 of climb and swim.

I had Tundra Warden at 120 ranks of survival. I don't know if any other skills factored in, but 120 survival is definitely one requirement.

Going up to 50 ranks of survival didn't get me desert strider. So I'm not 50 survival/30 climb.

I know I am bumping this up from several years ago, but I also have that title available as a dhe'nar an from reading the thread I think there is another skill involved that hasnt been named
