As this is of interest to sorcerers, I'll cross-post it here as well:
These are on the calendar for this coming Saturday, the 19th. Platinum's will draw at approximately 4 PM Eastern, Premium will draw at approximately 5 PM Eastern. Entry will be restricted to sorcerers of level 25+.
Winner will have their choice of any single demon-specific rune. Winners will be empowered to teach a lorae'tyr rune once, a shien'tyr rune twice, or a grik'tyr rune three times. It is highly suggested that winners be around at the time of the drawing, as Ledirth is likely to be very displeased if he has to wait long or go tracking people down later.

Woo good news in deed! NOt only for the cnahnce to get my summoner a rune but the chance for a lot of sorcerers to be in one place so i can get mine promoted to guild master! Oh and as i was curious and nearly asked before i read the calender event:

Does Ledirth have demonology training? from an IC standpoint I mean.
I'd just love to see him summon a greater demon to go "track someone down"....heh

I added an incomplete table on krakiipedia showing the people who know what runes; the data comes from the lists on the individual demon webpages on krakiipedia. I know it's incomplete because I have an arashan runestone in my pouch that someone gave me and there are no people listed as knowing it on the arashan page.

I'd also like to propose the next raffle be limited to people who don't already know a rune. people with runes tend to "trade" with other people who also have teachings, and this would help spread the runes out a little bit. people can still trade teachings obviously but it would keep the runes from being too concentrated in a core group of people, even though it still would be because of "trading". noted that at least two of the four winners tonight already knew some runes.

and yes I still think it's fairer for people without runes to be the first to get new ones. especially if it's their main character and would be using it a lot.
Is there any GM receptiveness to players picking an uncommon rune if they have over 100 or whatever demonology ranks? idea was first proposed by GM Nilven I believe.

I am curious about whether or not we could get more regular raffles for sorcerers? Not necessarily uncommon runes, but I'd prefer that, but perhaps customizing nightmares.. assuming there aren't going to be too many more mass customizations in the near future. I would compare it to the regular/semi-regular AC and sonic alteration raffles. Arguments have been made that the number of uncommon runes released needs to be limited, to which I would have to disagree. They make things somewhat easier, when you are trying to get a specific demon, but otherwise the mechanical benefit seems relatively limited.

While I appreciate more runes being distributed, I feel that simple auctions for the knowledge goes against the RP nature of the game. Since the Arashan event there have been no real RP events for distribution of uncommon runes. Can they at least be held in the Heart of the Art? or something more creative than a raffle be done to make it fun for all summoning sorcerers, regardless of if a rune is won or not? A summoning rune being raffled off in a place where summoning is illegal(as I believe it is on FWI) just strikes me as odd and a little inappropriate. If it's not illegal, then never mind that part.
I'd also like to re-suggest for the upteenth time to grant an uncommon rune with no teachings to guild masters who master illusions.

exactly. it is an RP choice. people who dedicate training to demonology should be allowed to pick one uncommon rune for the purpose of RP.
