For some reason when I launch the game now, with Stormfront, it won't load. It just says for me to wait while it connects to the game server. I went ahead and installed the Wizard FE, and that connects fine. I've tried downloading/reinstalling Stormfront but it just will not connect... any suggestions would be helpful.
Well, that did not work. And I don't know why I didn't try it last time, I'm an idiot... but I can use Stormfront to log in with my other character.
So, it's just this one character, and only with Stormfront. Stormfront works fine for my other character. Possibly the file I'm getting from Simu is corrupt somehow?

It's been a while since I did this, but there's an upper limit to what you can store server-side. And if you've exceeded it, unpredictable things happen.
I'm not sure if you will have everything you want, but you should save everything client side, then log out, and log back in. You may have to then do the 'move with the Wizard FE', if you still cannot connect. But at that point, you should be back in business.
I guess I should also ask at this point if you're using a Windows platform, or not. If you're using Mac OS and WINE, it's a different challenge you're facing.

So, I've logged into the one character that can log in with stormfront, switched all his locations to local.
The other character, the one that cannot connect, when I set it to local, it doesn't appear to save the choice because it never connects. I set it to local, and then I have to quit, and when I log back in, it is set back to server side again.
When I log into the game via wizard, it doesn't seem to have access to any of those scripts/macros/highlights, same with java and web based. Apparently only when logging in via stormfront are those settings pulled from the server. Not sure what to do now...

Just on an outside chance, are you using Lich? On occasion while using Lich, a single character will be able to log in just long enough to see the room display, and then SF will disconnect. If that's what's happening here, uninstall Lich, log into the character without Lich (either using the SGE or the website), and make sure that you are able to log in fully. Maybe enter a command or two to make sure you're getting a response. Then log back out, reinstall Lich if you had to uninstall it, and log on via Lich as normal.

Resolved the issue finally, thanks again Doug!
While trying some of the stuff Doug was suggesting, i had logged in and it just sat there waiting on the connection. I ended up stepping away from the computer for about 10 minutes(laundry) and when I got back it was logged in. I noticed a few times earlier in this troubleshooting process that Simu has REALLY slow upload speeds, and once I logged in I noticed that my scripts file was about 1mb. I had previously moved my character into town through the wizard just in case he was logged into the server, the game, and i couldn't respond or see or do anything. So, I didn't worry when I stepped away.
My guess is that it was very slowly re-downloading my server side stored settings every time, and that is why it never got past "please wait...", I never let it sit long enough.
I've since moved everything local, and it now logs in quickly, with no issues.
