Last night, drama and mystery at the summer fest in Mist Harbor. A half-krol chef had offered some clam chowder to Juramis, whilst two Imperial Emissaries were visiting. (I had missed some of the earlier conversation so I might be missing some detail). According to Juramis the chef was insisting that Juramis take the chowder, but, instead the Trader thought the Emissaries should try the chowder, seeing as it was freshly cooked.

After the male Emissary, Johlis I think his name was, took the offerin. After that, Juramis invited the Emissaries to sample some of his wine (which is good by the way) in his tent by the booth of the half-krol (boo) chef. After some wine, the Emissary began to feel ill. Juramis shooed everyone out (later stating he wanted to give the Emissary some air), then the Emissary collapsed dead.

The female Emissary, Zennobia?, immediately accused Juramis of murder. Juramis was summarily arrested and placed into the stocks near the bank. The male Emissary was raised and more accusations were stated. The crowd was on both sides, saying Juramis should be hung, and others stated that facts should be discovered first. Eventually, the female Emissary indicated that we should gather information afore their return this evening.

A few of us went to stand by Juramis, while in the stocks, to gather some information. Juramis, guilty or innocent, was harrased by some passerbys and the town official. (This was getting seriously hilarious in RP). Poor Juramis kept getting the answers wrong, or a few, and the official kept adding time in the stocks. A few passerbys threw fruit at Juramis, and the town official kept making snide remarks at Juramis.

What we found out was that Juramis had declined to sell some iron ore to the half-krols, and he felt it was for revenge that the chef had initially tried to kill him. He also mentioned a parchment he had regarding the ore, which he recalled was either from or about the Count of Seareach, who had burned many of Juramis' merchants ships.

The mystery continues!
