Can anyone enlighten me on using the pie-making machine? I thought I had it figured out, but ended up with a nicely-baked flaky crust -- and a scorched vanilla blob. Not exactly what I had in mind.

You need to bake the dough into crust alone first, then put the filling into the oven along with the baked crust and bake again.
