Does the festival seem light this year? on 08/02/2016 03:03 PM CDT

It seems this festival has less shops, merchants, services and raffles then previous years. I know it isn't a paid event but supposed to be one of the perks to having a premium account. I'm a little disappointed. Anyone else? or is everyone just going to bash me for saying something?

As stated previously, there are definitely less shops...which was mainly the decision of each GM which shop(s) they wanted to open this year.

Last year I had 19 total items/services for raffle. This year I have 42. Because I have so much more, I am often combining them into one raffle...ie: 3 picnic baskets in one raffle instead of 3 separate raffles (which has the added benefit that it's impossible for the same character to win all 3.)

And as for merchants, Prime has seen over 26 hours of merchanting over these first few days. I don't know how that compares to last year, but the festival is not quite half over. More to come!

I agree, Jainna. Rovvigen and I have gotten at least 4 or 5 services done, and that's not even spending a lot of time at the festival. I don't have much to compare it to, but considering its a free festival for all premium members, I am not complaining about the merchants and services offered. I think because of life weekend work and late evenings tend to be a bit heavier.

The only thing I have noticed is it seems there are less late night merchants, but that is more a problem with my general availability. :)

Plat could use some more merchanting though. ;) Or at least more Xerria when my dark elf is around.

I think I was at last years but honestly can't remember a thing about it. I certainly can't complain about the amount of work I've gotten done so far, that's for sure. I took a container from large amount to significant amount in one day.

I would however ask if it's possible in any small way, to get an idea of when merchants MIGHT come around? From morning until night, yesterday and today, there was little to no merchant activity. Which is fine, because GM's are busy doing their own thing, I get that. But most of us who are lucky enough to not have much else to do just stand in the Circle of Trees waiting all day to see if a merchant comes by. Would be great if we had a clue that no one would likely be showing up until such and such time, even if it was more of a guess by the merchant and nothing concrete.

go do something else? the criers have been game-wide, not just in the fest area.

True. I meant more so doing things not on the computer. So that if I more or less knew a merchant or merchants might show up at 1pm or later, I could spend 8am - 1pm doing work or other things, then make sure to login.
