You can now CANCEL your travel guide mid-trip by asking or telling them to CANCEL.
This will send your guide prematurely packing back to their home on travel guide island. You will be left abandoned and all alone in a dark, unforgiving world. The shadows will encroach on your very soul in an instant. You will suffer!
In addition, your guide will now display some options if you ask them for help, information, or any other random input.

This makes me want to hire a travel guide just so I can CANCEL the trip mid-way.

>Hadn't realized how bloody slow the travel guide was until using it semi recently, at which time I wished desperately for exactly this cancel ability.
If you tell them to shut up and go faster it speeds them up a lot. 30 minutes is still a long time, but its not the 2 hours they took on default settings last time I tried them.

There is a very large prompt when you cancel warning you of your choice to cancel. People will then need to confirm the cancel by repeating the command.
That gives people an extra chance to potentially not go through with the cancel. If they cancel and find themselves stuck, they can use REPORT or ASSIST like normal.
The travel system moves people from room to room. I think most cancels will happen early in the adventure. Unless people want a tour guide to half-way points.

I know the travel guides are built with TONs of messaging options and only a portion are visible in SF clicky. The typed verb ASK only mentions basic commands (which I thought it did before, too). Is this FAD?
> The guide continues, "You can try Asking me about one of the following: GO, SPEED, SLOW, STOP, QUIET, SPEAK, or CANCEL
Also: ask about 'dark' hits DARKA before DARKE. Potential responses that clawed through my skull:
1) This makes me hurt inside. It's still too fresh.
2) SPOILERS!! GSSiii isn't slated to start until June!!
3) Bug report
This seems to be FAD, but it would be super great to see this message updated to show that the Dark Alliance won the war and plunged the world in eternal darkness and despair. Surely someone would approve of this.
>>ask guide about dark elf
>The guide says, "The Dark Alliance has been a scourge upon the lands lately -- they've attacked nearly every major city upon Elanith and have succeeded in their goals. Their four priests -- beings of incredible power -- shattered a holy artifact of Lorminstra, the Griffin Sword. They seek to convert its power to the dark, and use it for their own ends. Whether they will fall or not is yet to be seen."
>>ask guide about darkelf
>The guide says, "In the aftermath of the Undead War, the Faendryl were banished to the land of Rhoska-Tor....." (snip)
