Found this on a critter not too long ago, thought it was an interesting find.

After a careful inspection you determine that a vultite chereb with a hilt crafted in the form of a curvy burghal cobbler requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively. It appears to be a modified short sword.

.

Interesting how the mind works.
You immediately thought of a round fruity pie. [curvy cobbler]
I immediately thought of a female shoemaker. [curvy cobbler]

Also, can we possibly get the pawn shop to give a description of enhancive items it sells? (I go into pawnshop, see an aventail on the magic items counter. Enter Command: Get aventail. "Oh yes ma'am, this aventail raises your dexterity by 3, and sells for a mere 350,000 silver).

I am tired of finding an enhancive item selling for 500,000 or whatever, having no clue what it does, and buying it just to find out it gives +1 to trading skill, or some other such nonsense. And then being offered 35,000 when I try to sell it back.

Huh, a Throgg post I can actually agree with and fully support. I agree, it would be great if the various pawnshops did this.

In related news, it's snowing somewhere deep underground...

I actually thought of this too, but I couldn't decide which was more likely! a burghal shoemaker is probably more common than a burghal pie, I guess? but how does one convey via carving that the burghal is a shoemaker? the hilt shows a carved burghal gnome working on a pair of shoes?

heck if I know. interesting piece.

It's an elongated carving of a person, arguably female [curvy], seated, bent [curvy] over the last [how we identify that it's a cobbler; the 'last' is the foot-shapey thing that they use to work on shoes].
