I must get the Kerl bonus then. I'd tell you my secrets but then they wouldn't be secrets now would they? Though these days I haven't hunted in probably 6 months, so I guess I'm drawing a big goose egg for half a year.

>> Yes and no. I did there, yes, but the treasure spits out things near that quality daily. In the last 24 hours, so 2pm ET on 9/4 to 2pm ET on 9/5, there were 239 items generated that our random object generator made. These items tend to be anywhere from slightly better to superbly better than normal gear drops. Quality of the item is up to you though. Only 3 unique items went out in that time, and those are things GM have to make by hand. These numbers are only in Prime.
What percent of the 239 items dropped in a capped hunting area? How many of the 3 unique items dropped in a capped hunting area?

Unlike Diablo 3, however, the gear you get in GemStone at level 10 is still perfectly useable at level 100. The game is balanced around that level 10 gear, because we essentially have to, or we do begin to price people out. Improvements on top the level 10 gear are just that. They make your hunting easier and safer, both of which are desirable results, therefore, you're willing to pay for those outcomes.

<<Having said all that, I do agree that there's a need to do something for hunting at the capped level, and I don't think the answer is some parlor trick to work around the real problem. The real problem, (and thereby the solution) is that we do not have enough capped hunting areas. One more should do it. A lot of folks will tell you it should be in Wehnimer's, and I'd be OK with that, but I think that Solhaven wouldn't be a bad location either. Copying the Grimswarm system is not the right solution in my opinion.>>
Why not both?
For that matter, why stop there? We can do other things. For instance, it might help if they increased the skin values in areas like plane 4 and the scatter so that picking them up isn't just an encumbrance penalty. Right?
And what's wrong with the warcamp idea? Don't get hung up on the warcamp as it currently exists. Think more like that bandit hideout idea that comes up all the time, with rewards like we expect from bounties. And thinking a little broader I like the idea of Voln-themed "camps", for lack of a better term. And COL as well. Also with bounty-system level rewards. GOS should be brought up to that level as well as far as rewards go. It might even be nice if we could earn different "points" for each type of bounty and take bounties from various sources simultaneously so that we could potentially be working on two at a time. Why not? You can still only turn them in and take new tasks so quickly, and it would be more fun to have more objectives.
I think it could add a lot more depth to our hunting/bounty routine.

Oh! And we could have more of a choice between taking it easy and resting while you gradually unload multiple completed tasks or opting to take a significantly larger bonus in points rather than experience, thus freeing yourself up to take another task. It would add a bit of a choice of rewards and styles of play. Then just make sure the rewards available for points are worthy of the sacrifice!

I am way passed cap and not a warrior, but I do hunt rather slowly relative to a pure certainly. I don't know that speed is always the issue, I find at least 1 notable thing a week on average. What is my secret you ask? ... very low expectations and the ability to be easily amused. I also have a few strategies I think have already been mentioned but should be repeated imho.
I almost always hunt with at least one other person and usually in a group of 4 or 5 and I don't powerhunt the capped hunting grounds regularly(anymore).
I get by doing escorts, bandits, and grim tasks and just go to the rift, nelemar, or otf for a change of pace and to collect boxes/loot, staying as long as it takes for me to get super loaded down and/or killed before heading back. On my escorts I often find surprisingly nice weapons on the passing orc, titan, or ogre.
I am a able to use magic and melee attacks like level so I am able to pick off creatures too annoying for most to bother with, like constructs or vvrael anything(which if you ask me have more nice gear than any creature of any level anywhere in the game).
I am a bard so I can check everything, I generally find nicer enhancives in warcamps, but I get much better weapons from capped hunting grounds. I like to think my song of luck and 202 ranks of perception are helping me too, but if its not true shhhh! don't spoil my moment ;p
