That's irrelevant to the fact that 0x armor getting a bonus is not a function of Enchant Item by of the inherent nature of all magical armor, period.

Also, that example makes no sense as the armors are masterfully crit padded and can't be enchanted. Sure, you could strip it, but that would defeat the entire purpose of having acquired them in the first place, as you can easily alter any other armor for a specific look.

Um. . . ok.

I used it specifically in support of a comment I believe you specifically made concerning how Enchant should be permitted a chance to enchant anything. If I misunderstood your position, I'm down - no harm no foul.

I'll make the request, then.

That wasn't clear from your post. I do agree it should be permitted to enchant anything, but it's not the case of what we're discussing with the seemingly finalized implementation. I believe the ship has sailed for requesting things, which is why it's discouraging few player suggestions were actually included in this update.

We can't even enchant flaring gear of any kind without 100 ranks of a lore.

I believe the ship has sailed (or mostly sailed), as well. We might be offering feedback, insights and suggestions that Estild and team are actively considering in terms of the current release, but I suspect at its core the design is locked. We're too close to a pending implementation to redesign from the ground up, for example.

Where I think I differ largely is outlook - I'm willing to continue the discussion into years future. If this your / my request gets tabled this time, but the reasoning behind it is 'logged', we can always revisit in the future, and I personally will hold out hope that it can be realized one day.

Razern & quicksilver (for crit- and damage- applications of weighting & padding) pre-temper potions were pretty much the first thing I spoke up about, way back when we found out about pre-temper potions. Sure, flares, too.

Have the rarity of the work getting done be based on whether or not people are finding those alchemical ingredients necessary to make the pre-temper potion. If they're valuable enough, people will train to find/harvest/use them.

Have I told you lately, Robert, how much I hate this side of you? Well, in truth - I hate alchemy and wouldn't want to see anything future state driven into it. But you know. . . by extension. . .

Whereas I'm exactly the other way: put it in the hands of the players.
"Why is this stuff so rare?!?"
"No-one's making it."
"..."
"I would be willing to sell it to you, though; how much you willing to offer...."

Then when players G through Q realize how much A had already made (being the only one in the market) before B through F horned in, they pile in too.

Eventually, there's a balance point between supply & demand, and an equilibrium is reached on price. Same thing happened with rezzing clerics, after all. :)
At one point--and we seem like we may have come nearly full cycle--it was hard to get a box opener, or healing. People tipped well, so new folks started picking & popping & healing; then there were too many, and folks were bored & vulture; now Empaths are strong hunters, and gee, they might not want to sit around waiting for (few) wounds, so we're back to "few healers".

.

I am one of those people who never has, and never will, do anything in Alchemy. Not my cup of tea. (Nor do I have tea or coffee service items.) I am perfectly willing to reward the people who DO have an interest in mastering that facet, so if I need <something they can make>, I'm willing to buy it from <someone who made it>.

Go ahead and limit the amounts by the ingredients ("tears of a stone golem", quantity five...) or difficulty of the recipe (can only even learn it if you have Mastered <Whichever branch of Alchemy>) or what not. Do NOT limit it to "that one dude who was at the merchant event and bought 87 nine-pour potions"; or by limited recipes (i.e. "Sorcerer runes") unless they can be taught; or by Premium/Standard; or whatever.

Let the players dig into it.
