No nothing would be held in game. It would literally just be a RNG selecting a name from the remaining names that were in the barrel. The account would be validated like we validated the others. And the person would be contacted by their play.net. Nothing visible at all.
There is no way to re-create the raffle after it draws. So this would be the only way to do it. It's a little more work for me to do it this way, but it's also less waiting around.

I think this is a pretty good idea, too. But it wouldn't hurt to announce the winner maybe, for good measure eh eh?

I actually just pulled all the names, wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be.
Given the feedback from here and my inbox. I think this will be the option we go with. If this fails, it's going to go to the Box Office. Because no good deed goes unpunished!

I kinda like this one personally. Since there is no location that is as accessible as Mist Harbor, the setting up of a raffle in any good location at any good time with enough notice seems like an impossible task.

Here is an idea for a GM to look into. A raffle barrel that is connected to multiple locations.
So they could one day have a basic raffle like FWI one, and not require everyone to travel the entire world just to get to it. May be a coding nightmare, but think of the fun you could have figuring it out. And the adulation for having done it!

I did, too, but as it's just one ticket and everyone did have the opportunity to upgrade to premie (if you can afford $200 for the ticket you can afford to upgrade temporarily), I think it's easier.
btw the temp upgrade cost me $6.40.

If for whatever reason the person selected cannot purchase the ticket (they don't want it, their billing method fails, etc), the ticket will just become available in the box office at a later time.
