I have a quick question regarding my win in the last Droughtman's run, the black ora torc. I realize that once removed from its box the item attunes permanently to the character, so would it be possible to have the torc altered without removing it from said box?
If from an RP perspective no sane merchant would touch it, would it be possible to do using points?

I just went and checked on the torc for you and I'm afraid to say that there is a note attached to it that says it cannot be altered in any way. Meaning that is the designer's intent for the item. The enruned witchwood box is also not allowed to be altered, either.
In good news this means at least you won't get frustrated with asking merchant after merchant and getting denied work on it.
