Not saying if it was right or wrong but I think Taoughen hates living/dead creatures in general so maybe your whole attire makes her hostile. I remember I tried to get her to make me a "decaying snake corpse dagger holder" last year and she yelled at me harshly because that is her NPC's attitude.
Her sign: If yous gives me living or deads creatures to works on... Ise makes you deads.
It was abrupt though when she fireball'd you. Very entertaining for the rest of us.
