This was the first time I've gone to this event. I hadn't been to one in a few years. It's not my kind of event but I still had some fun.
I just want to say that I think the pricing is way too high for many things. I was going to skip the event at first. However, the allure of a mount (turtle) was too much and I gave in somewhat. I was also interested in the container weight reducing service but will be skipping it for now. I did pick up a couple of enhancive hiders and I thought the price point was right on them.
I enjoyed the jousting event but I wanted to say that I was really, really let down when I did not get a better prize for winning a round 10-0 (I was able to do this twice in about 60 runs and received 2 urchin contracts). This feat deserves something more than an urchin contract imo.
I also had a question...is there a way to see how much the container weight reduction service will cost to take something all the way to a certain % like say 20%? I was able to see what the first % would cost but nothing further. Is there a formula I could just apply to that first amount to figure out the rest? I don't want to start the service unless I know the approximate cost going forward. If I don't know and it ends up being too expensive, I don't want to have to stop part of the way to my goal. I suspect the cost will be too high for me but I was hoping to find out just in case.
Thx

I'm so happy to see that you love your turtle.
Unfortunately, at this time, the mount system is too new for us to have all of the quirks of how the very tame mounts would handle creatures attacking you while you are mounted. The best we could come up with, so that they didn't get hurt, was to have them run away.
We do have open discussions on how best to handle this, but we aren't there yet. You should only be thrown if the creature attacks you as you are moving through the area, those occasions should be rare.

In DragonRealms, the only mounts that do NOT run away in combat are those that have been TRAINED for combat. And the only ones that can actually fight WITH you in combat belong to paladins and have to have WAR training as well. The paladins have to have a class in how to fight from the saddle, too. COMBAT training just teaches them not to freak and run. Mounts that have other specific training will stand still while you cast spells or shoot arrows or throw weapons from your saddle but will not fight for you. And the riders have to learn how to cast spells or shoot/throw from the saddle, as well.
Mounts in DR (only horses, as far as I'm aware, not goats, harts, or any other weird creatures obtained by special auctions, etc.) have lots of classes that can be taught to them, as do their riders. It's a fairly complicated system and related to the TEACH system in DR, which we do not have in GS.
