>rub pin
A golden incandescence radiates from your golden griffin pin and illuminates you briefly, obscuring a thrown necklace, an enhancive torc, an enhancive bracelet, an enhancive ring, and an enhancive belt.

You reveal a thrown necklace, causing the golden incandescence to fade.
You remove a thrown necklace from around your neck.
Speaking to your thrown necklace, you exclaim, "Hello, now I can recharge you!"

The pathways and roads to Sylinar's Spire are buried in snow and lost to time, and no merchants could navigate such a journey.

I am taking the pin as hiding the items in question, such that you don't have to be seen wearing that gawdy crown that gives you 18 ranks in something cool, etc.
I do not see the pin as actually turning enhancives on/off. Turning an enhancive off would (I imagine) eliminate the chance of it draining a charge while you are RP'ing with your friends and hanging out - and would remove the necessity of putting on/taking off enhancives prior to their need (hunt/invasion/showing off).

This would be super awesome. Maybe a great idea for a future upgrade to it.

When you rub the pin, all your (appropriate enhancive) items are hidden. So, if you're taking them off a bazillion times a day to look pretty, you no longer have to do that. So yes, the rest of the folks in the room don't have to see you remove 93 (!!) enhancives after every hunt.
You can also wave the pin at one particular item to hide it, if you want to do just one.

If you have 40 and only want to hide 39, waving it works that way too?

>>A golden incandescence radiates from your golden griffin pin and illuminates you briefly<<
CUSTOMIZATION IDEA: golden incandescences aren't for everyone. Some people are more into wintry glooms, shadowy ether, silvery sheens, etc. People would probably enjoy if that aspect were alterable.
Also, is the pin itself alterable?

>I do not see the pin as actually turning enhancives on/off.
Correct. Charges will still drain as normal.
>If you have 40 and only want to hide 39, waving it works that way too?
You can PULL a hidden enhancive item to reveal it without removing it.
>CUSTOMIZATION IDEA: golden incandescences aren't for everyone.
There are currently four options. The golden incandescence is limited to the Sylinar's Spire event only. So if you have a merchant change your golden incandescence to shadowy gloom, you can't change it back to golden.
>Also, is the pin itself alterable?
Fully alterable. Standard ALTER rules apply. But you don't have to wear the pin to keep the items hidden.

Yes, alterable, as Tamuz mentioned. As for the golden incandescence, that's a Sylinar's Spire special. However, the possibilities go on...
A deep cobalt-hued incandescence radiates from your golden griffin pin and outlines you briefly...
A shimmering rainbow iridescence radiates from your golden griffin pin and wreathes you briefly...
Shadowy tendrils extend from your golden griffin pin and wreath you briefly...

The pin is a souvenir that is only available at this event. However, because they're not attuned, they can be sold or given to others.

Run dates are still pending, but will be announced soon. Very soon, hopefully. Ticket prices will be announced at that time.

Re: A stylized golden griffin pin on 11/09/2014 12:18 PM CST
I forsee this item as being MUCH more desirable if it's got a switch to turn on/off the enhancive show AND pausing drain from normal wear. Lets face it, the majority of players don't LOOK at each other to see if they're sporting a pair of underwear on their head or a wall o' text. The larger complaint by far is the amount of screen scroll made by people wearing/removing their fancies to prevent charges from being drained.
If it does indeed function as you say, then I can see a smaller audience being interested in it.
Begin the brainstorming/babbling..
Presuming it functions like 'player add item1 to hider', 'player add item2 to hider', 'activate hider', 'hider makes item invisible'. Perhaps add a function, lets call it 'limbo', to hider... or maybe something that might be easier: make hider item a container of some sort, where activating the hider moves all the items in/out of inventory in one go.

It's still awesome, and I will be happy if I get one - PLEASE don't get me wrong on that. Being able to change the activation message is great!
Say, will this function only on enhancive items, or can I have my gal running around nekkid? ;)
"other stuff in the works" sounds so promising.

This pin might just be what allows me to start using enhancives. I'm not quite sure whether to thank you or curse in your general direction! Seriously, thank you for finding a way to code this and even do it in a way where you do not need to wear the pin. A handful of my characters run incredibly short inventories when you look at them and I intended to keep it that way even if they get gimped mechanically.
With the option of the pin, I would now have a use for the other services offered. Will keep an eye out for the release dates and prices.

I think we all agree people don't take off 40 enhancives to look pretty but rather to prolong their charges.
Why not make it so it turns off the enhancive when you hide it so that people can actually rub the pin to interact with others?
As of now, we either have to do the walk of shame and find a secluded corner to remove our enhancives, or blind everyone in the room anyways.
I don't particularly enjoy having to scroll anyone, even accidentally but this would be a great solution to that.
I know people have been asking for a on/off switch for enhancives for a while... Why not give it to them through this paid event?

There's a 30 second buffer where quickly removing the hidden enhancives will not be visible to the rest of the room, but I can't do anything about wearing or stowing messaging as the enhancives are no longer affected by the pin at that point. Cutting out a quarter of the room spam is still something!

General question: Why would people want to remove an enhancive property from an item. Do the number of properties within an item impact on the rate the item drains or something? (Cant think of any other reason to remove something - even if that something is an irrelevant something to the particular wearer.)
Enlightenment appreciated for this ignoramus.

For starters, it makes enchanting it harder, and merchant enchanting it more expensive, so if it truly isn't relevant, it lowers those costs, if nothing else.
I don't know on charge drain. Also, can you PP enhancive something that is already enhancive? Might want to blank it for those purposes.

>>Why would people want to remove an enhancive property from an item.
Some items have 2 (or more) things they enhance. When you go to the ADV guild for recharging, it recharges all of them, and charges accordingly. If one of those things is something you don't use or care about, you're paying anyway. So removing an enhancive property you don't want leaves you with a lower recharge cost for the rest!
