I was under the impression that there weren't going to be the sort of area effect spells that wipe out lower level characters when the creatures are targeting capped characters, but then this happened:

A menacing krolvin pirate growls a curse and gestures at Raincail!
A wave of crimson ethereal ripples moves outward from a menacing krolvin pirate.
You are buffeted by the crimson ethereal waves, and knocked to the ground.
You are pinned in place, unable to move.
Roundtime: 19 sec.
... 70 points of damage!
Fire completely surrounds you. Your blood boils and your heart stops.
*snip out list of spells dropping*
It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...
You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.
...departing in 10 mins...

I know there was some mention that Nature's Fury wouldn't be included among the spells that these guys were casting for this sort of reason, but I would have thought that major ewave would also be up there too.
