It would be great if there was a way we could automatically reject these things, or at least be able to say no to them without risking being put into Locksmith Pool timeout.

Tips are sorted high to low. Rejecting it means that's all that's left in the pool so it's probably best to go do something else for a while. I see this being requested often but ultimately it's not a trivial change and the net result would effectively be the same thing.

I think a minimum tip should be a thing. We're risking lives and expensive picks and the best that person can do to express their gratitude is 1 silver? I've got 1 finger for them.... esp considering the ones I've seen were mostly near-cap boxes.
I'm not suggesting anything extreme, a flat 50-100 silver minimum shouldn't be objectionable even for the poorest boxes.

I'm not sure the system needs tweaking, but if it does some ideas.
-Attach names to boxes: While this could open the door for griefing and the like, not having a name associated with it encourages people to do the bare min because their reps aren't on the line. Some people might even use this to become well known awful/great tippers.
-Storage fee: If a box sits unpicked for 24 hours the guild starts tacking on a storage fee each day. Wouldn't apply to picked boxes waiting to be picked up, but if a box is being shunned by pickers then it provides incentive for the client to do something about it.
-Queue system: This could work in a variety of ways
-hard limit: client can only have 10 boxes in the queue at any given point and if he has 10 sitting there with 1 coin tips he has to remove those before using the system - not actually a fan of this and I don't imagine pickers are either because it lowers the pool volume
-soft limit: If the client has has 3 boxes sitting around for 24 hours, he can't add new boxes until he deals with at least one of the problem ones

As a client, I'd be happy to have my name attached to the box. Maybe make it optional? That would give a positive incentive for people who want to tip well and be known but not trouble the anonymous users.

I would be on board with this as well. The locksmiths of Elanthia might then be inspired to compose a new song in Faulkil's honor!

This is unlikely to ever happen as long as I have a say. It'll just encourage griefing players.
> Queue System
There's already a limit on the number of boxes a character can keep in the pool. It's a large limit, but it does exist.

Every time a box gets turned back by a locksmith, it counts as +1 box against the owner's queue.
When the cheapskates try to offload their new acquisitions only to be turned away, they inquire and find out that they have only 2 boxes pending (one having been turned in 4 times and one having been turned back 6), they may grow a clue and start leaving better tips attached.

The current system already supports this. Don't open the boxes if you don't like the tip - they'll remain in the queue if no one is interested in opening boxes for the tip being offered.
Honestly I think people are way over focused on tip amounts. Don't open the boxes if you don't like the tips.
The new system has allowed my locksmith character to open waaaay more boxes at times that are convenient for me than before the system was put into place. As an added bonus, boxes that are outside of my capabilities are automatically filtered out (though I have returned a few that had questionably high lock or trap reads).
Likewise as a customer I much prefer the locksmith pool over the npc locksmith.
Everyone wins here!
If you are looking to get rich on picking boxes via the locksmith pool then I might suggest considering alternative options.
And before people chime in about losing money on picking boxes with low tips let me restate this one point...

I am rather ambivalent about the new system. Ys, I get to open more boxes, and get more experience. As for tips, I don't even look at that. I have enough silvers that
I pick just for experience.
What i do miss about the old system is the personal touch. I had my own set of customers who would come just to me, and I would do a bunch of RP with them.
Now its just purely mechanical, with not a word being spoken. I still do get occasional private commissions, especially for plinite extractions, but that's
fairly rare.
All in all, I wouldn't mind it if we went back to the old system tomorrow.
"So, what does that green line on the graph represent?"
"Oh, that's the projection of a hypothetical offspring from a union between Sauron and Cruella de Ville;
we use that as a baseline for determining character alignment."
