With the RESOURCE verb available and being able to see the actual amount of absorbed essence, I noticed a small absorption bug on the first pulse starting off the new week.
My wizard in question can absorb 32 essence a pulse off-node and 49 on-node.
Killing a like level creature with no essence stored and having used more than 12 mana for the kill I should only get 45 essence.
After killing that one creature and then standing in the room I had cast 418, I waited for the pulse to see if the initial pulse on a new week does indeed grant absorbed essence.
I know the creature was like level because the APPRAISAL verb showed the creature would be evenly matched.
I pulsed and checked via RESOURCE and it showed 52 absorbed essence.
Several issues here.
1) the like level creature I killed should only have granted me 45 essence in my pool (33 for like level kill + 12 for mana used: I used 1 cast of 917).
2) I absorbed 52 essence (that's 3 points more than I can absorb on-node) and according to the SENSE verb I still had a "faint tingle" of essence in my pool.
4) If I absorbed 52 essence, how could I still have some stored essence in my pool if I only killed 1 like level creature?
3) 52 absorbed essence is more than what I am able to absorb even on a node.
Every pulse after the initial new week pulse gave correct numbers.
Off-node gave 32.
On-node gave 49.
Standing in the room with 418 active, after the first pulse, only granted 32 absorbed essence. I wanted to make sure 418 while active was not causing absorption issues while out hunting and off-node.
I won't be able to test this again until next week to see if I can replicate the issue.
