Not including Duskruin Arena/Sewers, this event has had our highest opening participation count to date, beating out the Duskruin Dig, Summit Academy, and Briarmoon Cove.

How's everyone enjoying the event so far? How are the changes?

It sort of feels like the accessory drop rate is a bit high.

Any chance of an NPC outside of the manor for trade in?

Otherwise, it's obvious alot of effort went into development.

Honestly, my only complaints would be what Ordim's mentioned- it's hard to keep track of all the doll parts and accessories, now. I -love- the concept, and some of the accessories that have come out have been amazing. When I found the vasculum on my third or fourth run I knew this event had my love :)

And just a minor, minor thing- I found about sixty or so transport spheres. Seriously, I have one locker that's almost full of nothing but them, between this event and EG. Any hope of being able to bundle the ones that go to the same place? Or lower their drop rate just a tiny bit?

Plus, I have no idea what a lot of the stuff I've found is, and that is always part of the fun. Thank you, greatly enjoyed!

yes bundling spheres, less accessories more jackpots. Okay the last part not as much as the first two.

Any chance there were certain items that were jackpot not listed so i can look through my 600 items or so?

Or have you just contacted people that you saw?

>>It sort of feels like the accessory drop rate is a bit high.

The accessory drops have taken the place of all 2-ticket drops. So while it does seem high, the alternative were the tickets.

Once we fix the cases (again), that should help a little better. But my advice is only keep what you think you want. Some stuff is more rare than other stuff though.

>>Any chance of an NPC outside of the manor for trade in?

The NPC inside the manor is by design. He's an adventurer like you.

Bundling isn't possible for them. Their value is the same as the entry to Delirium Manor, so they are one of the better finds for ROI. We'll see if we can make a container for them or something (like a gem jar). This might take a bit to get up and running though.

An orb container like the doll case would go a LONG way to make them viable. Again, there are just too many item limits (character and locker) to make storing them long term viable. I think I have a full or half locker someplace with them. I've been selling them for like 5k each because there are just SO MANY out there.

having him in the manor forces you to buy to trade in. while its a small thing, it makes a difference. if we could enter with zero searches, that would be a bit different.

but just like us, shouldnt the npcs get kicked out from time to time or rest outside?

at any rate, i second the request for a non buy in npc.

So much this, and in all honesty the fifty-seventy-fifty-fifth time I've gone in, I don't remember if I'm on search 1 or 9 for that pass; so it makes it very difficult to stop, unload, then do your last search.

An NPC outside the manor would really be nifty.

Echoing the request to have one of the NPCs outside of the manor, even if it's just an occasionally wandering around before re-entering thing. Mostly it's a QOL thing, though I get why they're inside the manor exclusively (in lieu of primarily).

I didn't do DM the first time around, but I read a lot of negativity about it.

I don't really get it myself. I understand there's nothing here to make your combat numbers go up. I'm not here for that kind of thing.

There's a lot of fun and interesting things to find inside. The availability of heavily scripted and functional items to enhance a variety of characters and their roleplay is fantastic. I have so many of these scripted items that are great but don't suit my character, so I'm hoping I'll find a way to get them to people who will use them and appreciate them. These new redeemable certificates for unlocking and deepening/lightening things, also fantastic. The level of detail and customization of the doll and the variety of accessories -- well, let's just say I wasn't going to build a doll to begin with, but now me and my bank account are going to try our hardest.

I think it's a shame that the number of cores seems so low. I don't know what the mechanical benefits of the full doll are (if any) but if it's like putting a pendant together, where it's purely for fluff reasons, it would be nice to see more of these get completed (pendants too). If 50 people have them over the next year or two, they're still fun, rare, and they become something most characters will encounter, perhaps even themselves becoming interested in pursing the next time they're available. If 10 people have them over the next year or two, it possibly becomes something people see as unattainable and they lose interest. (DISCLAIMER: I don't know how many cores are going out so my numbers are arbitrary and meant for illustrative purposes only).

My only real complaint seems to be in line with a lot of other folks -- the simucoin items. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't like having 50 of the chronomage orbs. Let us trade them in for tickets or chronomage credit for travel later. Something. Anything. Maybe just replace them with something else. I also don't really understand ever giving away spell-knowledge enhancive recharges. I don't know how many spell knowledge enhancive items are out there floating around in the game, but something tells me it's not a large enough number to merit dropping them on the masses with some regularity at these events. I know these things are expensive to charge via BPs, but this item caters to a very small group of people I feel like.

Anyway, all-in-all I really enjoy the flavor of DM and I look forward to seeing more dolls get completed. Maybe I'll even see someone use one one day!

As a new player, this event has been fantastic for giving a boost to both funds and fun fluff items (my main draw to Simu games, I admit). However, it really feels like all the accessories are mostly useless because of how difficult it is to complete a doll. In 50 runs I've found glue, but no head or left arm/legs and certainly not a core. I understand the monetary boon of making dolls extremely difficult to completed but it seems a darn waste to have 500 accessories that I see more often than not just being sold to the NPC or dropped on the floor because completed dolls are so hard to put together :(

I'm going to have to agree with this. And suggest that it'd be really really awesome to have an inexpensive fluff doll that has NO functionality in the ticket shop whose only value is being able to be dressed up.

I agree with Rikkochet, there should be dolls that we could dress up, because apparently finding all the parts (namely the head) is difficult, but there are some really fun accessories coming out of there. Lots of women (because we're silly) would enjoy having dolls to dress up and give as gifts to people. I would anyway.

I'll start by following up to the doll-dressing up, that aren't the functional evil-doll that possesses you for a limited time, from Blammo!

Several years ago, there were a pair of gnomes at EG, I think, who had a shop that had all sorts of dolls. There were multiple rooms full of accessories for them, and the gnomes would show up and customize them. It was great. Perhaps something of this nature could be added to EG, minus the customizing gnomes, of course. More on that soon.

I feel like the accessories at DM were a bit... overboard. There were an epic ton of them, and I feel like maybe that was by design to reduce the amount of "general tickets" in circulation. That's okay. But can we cut down on the mass variety of the different accessories, and perhaps allow some sort of customization to them? I get that we don't want them to be altered, for a reason I'm sure, but...

What if the accessories were cookie-cutter: A skirt, a pair of pants, a shirt, a blouse, some earrings, a pair of eyes, a nose, etc. And then there was a workshop/toolbench somewhere at DR that for a small amount of scrip, you could choose patterns, colors, and materials to customize the accessories? Thoughts?

Yes? No? Maybe?

I thought of this too.

There are some stark differences between the two dolls, primarily that the ones that you're talking about are highly customizable/alterable. The ones from DM are not alterable at all (aside from replacing one accessory with another). The trade of is that (AFAIK) while the alterable dolls retain their inventory count, the ones from DM become 1 item. Which, for those of us who already have inventory management issues, is a Big Deal.

I think the vast # of choices in terms of accessories at DM, along with the 1 item, is a decent offset to having everything customizable but remaining a bunch of individual items that can be removed.

Would I like more customization options for the DM dolls? Sure. That's what the clay blanks are for.

Seriously love the additions to the dolls! I've been having fun putting things together for the couple I ended up with from EG, which previously were lockered with the hopes of one day finding a core for them but now actually can be (even more) fun props.

Another expansion for them that I think could work in a similar method (hopefully?) and would be neat to see would be either different types of wood veneers or paints to apply for its base. That could potentially even modify non-core dolls to make them more appealing. For example, say you have 'a tube of thin [wood] strips' or 'a small bottle of [color] paint'. That could then be pushed onto a completed doll much like the other features and accessories. With 'a tube of thin fiery ruic strips', the doll would be 'a jointed fiery ruic doll', while 'a small bottle of green paint' would yield 'a jointed green-painted doll'. It could likewise be expanded in its look to reference the wood/paint color: 'You see a jointed wooden doll that has been glued together, with a coat of green paint covering all of its visible surfaces.' or '...with a veneer of fiery ruic covering all of its visible surfaces.'

One advantage to this would be to better visually show that the doll in hand is pale, or dark, or some bizarre color like blue. The other advantage would be to differentiate between wooden dolls when there is more than one in a container - or simply while held. I imagine that DM will be returning more than a few times, so over the course of that, I wouldn't be surprised to see some ending up with more than one completed doll (with or without a core - either due to rarity or due to RPed reasons for not completing the quest).

While I like the THEORY of the collection... the fact that inventory management is a giant PITA is really affecting enjoyment. There's a reason that most games that have collectibles give you an entire inventory, just for those collectibles, AND that doesn't take up your normal inventory space. I'm probably stopping earlier than I would on this event (and started late for unrelated reasons) because of this.

Please consider updating the cases to be a more complete solution to the problem.

For instance, if you could TURN the case to switch between gear slots (and doll parts) and then FLIP the case to switch between parts within the slot, and basically make them able to store all stock parts. I get that having a rare prize for deepening the cases was a goal (and it's rarer even that 200 lb deepening certs, from what I can tell, which seems... off) but the case really should be a primary mechanism, rather than a special bonus for just a few parts. Plus, storing the items in packed array form must take up less resources than on 3-5 alts packed to the absolute maximum.

PS - Completely separate... Can the cases be updated to not reset to the 0 position after an item is pulled? Rotary phones are a little outside of GS RP, I believe.

If this solution is implemented, I'd like to suggest a functionality addition.

TURN CASE HEAD/CHEST/SHOULDER, etc, to go directly to that location.
