The smashing success that was fluff script transference at Briarmoon Cove got me thinking. I'd love a service where we could take all of the properties of one item and combine them with the description of another. There are old off the shelf items with descriptions that I simply adore but mechanics that are totally unusable for my characters. On the other hand, I have items that are mechanically sound but are completely bland in terms of description/material/style.

I know in theory the same could be accomplished by altering the mechanically good item, but many old items are of a style that you cannot really have altered today. In 1998 it was perfectly acceptable to sell an elven shock infantry warlance off the shelf; now a GM might set me on fire for asking for it. This service would not create any more of those verboten descriptions, it would just make the ones we have good enough to be actually used.

The general rule of thumb is that if something is "illegal" by today's standards, a GM will not work on it at all without changing it to meet today's standards. My merchants would basically say, "If I take that, I have to change it," so someone had a chance to put it away. So, while I understand your desire, this isn't something we're planning to do.

I was thrilled to find 1/x number of items I could ask to transfer a script for only to find my pants (which alter would not be remade by today's standards) were too large of a pocket to put my wounded wear into. Pockets (and illegal altars) are way more OP than wounded wear, obviously, so I'm keeping my sweeper gear!

"(and illegal altars)" -- Rolfard

It's those damn renegade elements of the church to blame, I tell ya!
