Navigation on 09/09/2020 02:30 PM CDT
I've gone out a couple of times and I really enjoyed the play, the maneuvers with the ship, the boarding and fighting.. it was all a blast. However, the navigation is a bit cumbersome. How about some buoys we can ping or a lighthouse to give us a direction to get back to the docks?
It's all fun but when you want to quit and head in and you've run from a pirate ship or got off course it's a bit frustrating. If we had a way to get on track back to the port we want, a lighthouse, a sextant to get us on track or buoys or something that says go that way to get to the dock you want would be soooooooo helpful.
Otherwise, this system is super cool!
And come on Rester.. you totally got the idea from Silvergate's Pirate Wars, admit it! LOL

I agree, it's pretty difficult to find landmarks such as a port if you sail away from it for a bit. The map in the Captain's Quarters helps, but I feel that sea captains could take some precautions from getting lost.
Maybe sea charts could be purchased in Kraken's Fall and be used as a sort of autopilot in order to go to the various other ports, e.g, a chart for the Obsidian Sea that lets me set a course for Teras Isle. Perhaps they could only be used when you upgrade your ship with the right navigational equipment, like a compass. Maybe a high-role Captain could navigate by the stars at night.
