Here is my so far partial list:
1) They are cutting past Shear without effecting it. Players casting Arc Light do affect my Shear.
::::Log:::::
A swamp troll bellows a word of power.
A brilliant flash of light issues from a swamp troll's hands.
The bright flash disorients you.
>perc
Xibar is dominant, Katamba is strong, while Yavash's influence is moderate.
Stellar Magic and Psychic Projection spells are favored.
You are surrounded by a maximum strength Shear spell, which should last over two anlaen.
Roundtime: 8 seconds
2) They cast ES, yet it dosent give messaging effects.
>perc trol
There are no spells on the swamp troll.
The swamp troll is preparing Ethereal Shield.
Roundtime: 11 Sec.
((((3 seconds Later))))
A swamp troll bellows a word of power.
3) We cannot tell if ES is on them. See the above log. Almost like they really arent casting it succesfully. I waited around for two of them to try and cast it a total of 18 times. (tested via PERC'ing them)
Thats it so far.
Should have my Barb up there in a bit, but it looks like they arent even checking for defensive spells/resistances.

The Shear issue appears to be a problem.
In the other case, it looks like he just backfired the spell, in which case it wouldn't be on him. There was code in place that indicated a room messaging for when they do that, but it was removed for some reason. I'll see about adding it back in unless there was a good reason for its removal.

The issue with Shear is actually a problem with Arc Light which should be fixed sometime today.
>>>You may want to look at there rate of backfiring. Unless each creature is
meant to be of varying levels of intellegence in how they cast there
spells, they backfired ES a aweful lot.<<<
Swamp trolls aren't the brightest sticks in the Happy Meal, but still it's likely a lot of logic issues will pop up.
>>>Do creatures backfiring spells get twitches like we all do?<<<
Yes, though like players, it doesn't always happen on a backfire and you may not notice it by looking at them if the damage is merely tiny.

Don't think this already occurs, and don't know if it's in the works, or if it's even been considered, but:
Any chance nerve poisons might actually affect casting? I mean if your nerves are fried, it affects it, so if they're poisoned, giving twitching, does it/can it/will it affect critter magic (& player for that matter).

Having the poison itself does not affect casting, but taking damage from it (to nerves or vitality) currently does. There currently isn't a difference between the fresh nerve damage you get from nerve poison and the fresh nerve damage from harnessing too much mana or backfiring, though it's easier to see some of the higher level messaging from harnessing (the vitality hits from nerve poison would likely kill you long before your nerves were completely destroyed).
