So here's the skinny on learning from cleaning fish. Skinning a fish with a knife will teach on average 12-14 rubs of an orb per action and takes 10 seconds. Scraping a fish with a scraper quick will teach 27-29 rubs of an orb per action and takes 10 seconds. You can fail a scrape by marring the fish (10 seconds) which teaches nothing, or you can really fail and ruin the fish (30 seconds) which also does not teach. You can not fail to skin a fish with a knife. Repeatedly skinning a fish with a knife will cause the fish to vanish while producing junk on the floor. All this is independent of the type of fish.
