Does the line and hook you use make any difference at all? With the largest hook and strongest line, will you only catch big fish? Does that teach better?

I'm catching only big fish using the free stuff, so I'm not sure that it does. I've not yet used any of the bought stuff, though.
Right now, if Ragran came across my paladin and put a knife to my throat demanding I catch a 5-stone creppoo for him my paladin would have a second smile.
