Tell us, When will we get to fly and shoot lazer beams from our eyes that can decapitate a dragon from a whole city worth of rooms away???
Also, When will we get the ability to have ill tempered sea bass for familiars... With lazers on their heads. Yah!!!

Greetings,
I'm not exactly sure where you were going with this thread, but just in case, I'm going to ask that it does not progress into anything GvG related.
Thanks,
Imrielle

Oh, by all means I had zero intention for that. I would hope the sarcastic comments of ill tempered sea bass with lazers on their heads and Dragons should of been sarcastic enough to of clearly stated the desire for comedy and laughter. I mean, Everyone knows, Dragon's don't exhist in Dragonrealms!!! ::snicker:: ::grin::

ps... When was the last time anyone walked away from a conversation with a Dragon in the realms? I'll guess never.

>The 'dragon' in Dragonrealms actually refers to Lanival the Redeemer, if I'm not mistaken.
I thought Lanival was the guy(human?) who defeated the only dragon that was in dragon realms but the players never saw? Or was the dragon actually here in game at one time or another?
If that is it than wouldn?t it be more correct to call it LanivalsRealms, or The RedeemersRealms or even HumanRealms? I mean Gemstones has stones in it and gems. We have realms but no dragon. heh paradoxically delicious.

I thought it was called DragonRealms because of the massive planet-destroying super-dragon sleeping at the core of our world. It hatched from the fourth moon and the gods had a terrible time trying to kill it. Finally, they figured out it was too hard to kill and instead cast a sleeping spell on it that keeps Periel singing to it for all time (she got her leg ripped off by it, I think). So now the dragon heats and gives life back to our world, whereas before it practically trashed it.
And Lanival was helped by three Great Mages who chose to come down to Elanthia and dwell with us as dragons (giving up their godlike status). But they have only been seen rarely and it should be remembered that they're not technically dragons, that's just the physical form they chose.
I also remember seeing a dragon fly over Crossing once, but that was a long time ago. And it wasn't the mechanical one.
Any mistakes or additions?

From the Website:
Glacis [one of the guardians who appeared in Dragon form] is best known for saving the life of Lanival the Redeemer. He is likely to have inspired Lanival's plan to reforge the broken Empire, and that association is why the Five Provinces we know today are sometimes referred to as the Dragon's Realms.
From the IG book Human Histories (Lanival's Tale):
Lanival's calm attitude, strong insight, ability to stay cool under fire, and ferocity in both hand to hand and magical battle earned him many names, but the one that always stuck was the one attributed to his seemingly inexhaustable wisdom. Even before Glacis' and his friends intervention, the name that is most closely associated to Lanival came to be. It is said that Uthmor was the first to begin calling Lanival "the Dragon", and the name always stuck, even up to the formation of the provinces. So much so, that they are still sometimes referred to as, "The Dragon's Realms".
So there ya go. Two similar but different explanations.
