What are the effects of using an arranged skin versus a normal high-quality skin on the results of tanning?
Can a non-Ranger, without having to buy an arranged skin or skins from a Ranger, make a better than store-bought tanned item?
Can a tanned item, from a perfect non-arranged set of skins, reach the tanning cap, or even come close to what soemone with the same skills would make using arranged skins?
If the answers to any or all of the questions above are "No", than tanning needs to be looked at, since it is supposed to be a non-guild specific skill.

Obviously an arranged skin is going to be better than a non-arranged skin...because one is better than the other. But a non-Ranger with enough skill can make better than a store-bought leather item...although they would have to have a LOT of skill considering a Ranger has trouble getting better than a store-bought item. Tanning is a very difficult system in comparison to others and not many can make any kind of armor worth anything, much less better than storebought, because it is so hard to do. But yes, if you have the skill then Tanning is a system that can be open to you regardless of guild.

Wrong. Tanning is the Ranger creation system. It just so happens that, because Ranger gurus rule, other guilds were given bonuses to different items. However, Tanning was designed for Rangers to be the best at it. One of the ways that's brought about is through ARRANGE.

Yes.. and Forging weapons was supposed to be a the creation system that Barbarians are best at, and that's being taken away.
What's good for the barbs, is good for the Rangers. Make everything equal, no bonuses.
