Rigby, I'm not sure how Distant Gaze works on the coding side, so maybe some of these are intended or I'm not realizing something, but here are some things you might peek at.
(I have a very long log of my tests if I need to post it, but I didn't want to edit it, so I'm not posting it unless you ask.)
1. Either the PP bonus from DG doesn't instantly end when you release your gaze, or it just doesn't end period. Maybe it is coded to slowly decay?
2. I believe that you can continually increase the PP boost by recasting DG (either by alternating moonbeams, or using the same one over and over. Not sure which it is)
No predictions. No Aura Sight.

<<1. Either the PP bonus from DG doesn't instantly end when you release your gaze, or it just doesn't end period. Maybe it is coded to slowly decay?>>
On that note,
I haven't done much testing, but what I have done confirms that a higher-powered DG gives a stronger PP bonus. (With no DG had 4 planets, 2 well within. With a 6 mana DG had 7 planets, 2 well within. With a 22 mana DG had 7 planets, 4 well within).
In addition, I've noticed the bonus does decay. Cast a strong DG, check the planets and Stellar Magic, and then do that again in a half hour. The bonus appears to "reset" to the minimum bonus (the one achieved by a min-mana DG).
What I don't know is a) how long it takes to decay, b) if the bonus continually decays or eventually reaches a minimum stop point, c) if Aura Sight and DG together allow you to "knock against" the global caps sooner, limiting the usefulness of each spell to a Moon Mage with enough skill.
Any possible GM clarification on that last one? Do global caps apply to specific skill increases or to the means used to enhance that skill? In other words do DG and AUS combine, and stop when they hit a certain "PP Increase Cap" or does each spell have it's own limit?

That is a good question. I too would like to hear an answer. I am betting on the former, and not the latter though.

The cap as has been discussed on the boards applies to a singular bonus. That was the first part of the equation to bring in line. The second part is the stacking of multiple, like bonuses. There are no core mechanics to handle that at this point so is something we are just watching manually. We know what we want to implement (and what the stacking limits are to be). Its just a lengthy project without much net benefit (so its down the list).
