I decided that since the cornrow style will definitely be a hairstyle that the GM's will decide MUST go in, I'd have to think of other hairstyles to balance it:

loose: First of all, is choice 8 a mullet?

8) cropped short on top, longer in the back and sides

It seems like one. Anyways, choice 9 would be:
a disgustingly greasy, stiff swath of dirtiness and dotted with a myriad of huge white flakes

braided:
painstakingly braided into intricate cornrows

tied:
a seemingly unmovable ponytail, shiny due to obvious lack of hygiene

mussed:
worn in a vain attempt to look fashionable - but it's clear someone forgot to bathe today

really mussed:
completely filthy with small black dots bouncing about

As you can see, these choices can be fitting for the commoner of the lands; or perhaps, one who wishes to roleplay a beggar, for instance. Hopefully these suggestions will be taken into consideration.
