I used the breaking and entering system to get into a house and I found a keepsake box on the bed there. When I got out I had a lockpick in one hand and the box in my other. I did lock box/ unlock box, but I never moved my mindstate in locksmithing any at all. I did this at least 20 times back to back, but never had my mindstate in locksmithing move at all.

When I tap the box I see "You tap a small anli keepsake box inlaid with shards of picture jasper inside your traveler's backpack."

I've also bugged this in game.

Does anyone know if the keepsake boxes have a cap on locksmithing learning?

You want to lock box, pick box. Not lock box, unlock box.
