The way it was explained at Simucon...
You receive a name. That name is your mark. You must kill them.
In receiving a name, your name is put into the system and it will be possible for someone else to receive your name and kill you.
There will be a system in place to make sure that it won't be Tropicalo vs. some 5th circle noobler, and no, it won't be circle-based. How exactly skill will be used to determine fair matches has yet to be elaborated on.
In addition to this, it's possible there will be "runners" that will either tip you off by telling you something about someone that is coming after you or deliberately mislead you by telling you the wrong race or gender or whatever.
That's all we know so far, unless more was said that I missed.

What happens if you kill them in town? Are you still arrested? Sounds like fun though. Also how do you get a name? Wanted board or Town Hall? Guard House?

I know the entanglement system is being worked on. The planned WM spell Anther's Call will use it, but recent posts by Wythor has made it seem like it is not coming along all too quickly.
Capturing your foe would be great fun!

Yes it would be.
I do have a sort of very rough idea about this, that ought to be useful for NMUs especially.
What about if, while one is in the bounty system, one has a net that can be cast to immobilize one's prey? Make it based off of stats similar to what is needed to avoid Slaver's nets. And if one tries to cast it at someone who is not in the bounty system, get this message; "What do you think <name> is, a fish?"

small correction -- rangers DO use a rope to "capture" a horse, but giving all guilds a chance to lasso various critters would be neat too. It could be non-damaging so empaths could do it too.

Will we get the 'cut off the head and keep it as a momento' system, so we can prove to the bounty guy we killed the person?

We have something in QC that may lead into this, or at least may provide some potentially key mechanics to make it easier for us to manage and build off of.

I wonder if this has ties to the Justice system changes. I'm very much looking forward to the bounty system as a theory, although I'm not sure my character will actually engage in it. Not my prime character anyway.
