I'm not sure exactly how large these bowls are supposed to be, but...

It doesn't appear that an enruned sandstone bowl is the type of item to put in the miscellaneous component compartment.

Why not? Bones go in there. I'd understand if they're supposed to be too big, but the item type is at least right to be put in the case, if not the size.
