Here (at the bottom) is an issue that plagues me daily, and is a barrier I would not like to see breached. Atrathien is in agreement with me, and yet as a corollary feels that cleric spells that greatly affect non undead creatures outside the spirit realm should best not be. With HOT, the issue IS breached from one side, but I still struggle to maintain that cleric magic (or at least holy magic in the hands of a cleric or paladin) should be reserved to affect those noncorporal undead beings of spiritual essence.

I mention this so you understand a little of the position a decision to have lots of cleric spells physically affecting the living puts us in. I know most of you may say, oh who cares, but as there are other issues involved I am not at liberty to discuss, I only hope you will believe it is your overall best interest that does guide me.

My personal feeling is that spells that logically make sense to affect non undead should be able to do so, but that it is probably best long term for those to be the exception, rather than the rule.

As I have stated to some in the past, my goal is to make all existing spells useful as well as to continue to provide new spells and new communes. If there is no way to logically improve the spell, then I shall strive to make the world need more of it (thus we now have more hunting areas that require light to hunt in, and more creatures who cast spells that pfe can protect from). Some of you may recall a not too distant time when PFE did er.. absolutely nothing.

I hope Divine Radiance is near the point when I can get some clerics to help me test the version I am working on now, and Kertigan's Will will be the next thing I tackle to try to give it some additional value. Other spells you have commented on I am looking at along with Meakah and Atrathien for possible adjustment.

I have a question about Aether Lance that has plagued me for some time,

Spirits are said in critical hits to be made of Ethereal energy saying
things like
sending its ethereal hand flying into orbit> Aether Lance is Ethereal
energy and
doesn't affect DS, after assisting about it a GM told me it was
because Aether Lance
was a physical manifestation of ethereal energy. Yet you say that its
energy so
there is nothing physical to pick up like Frost Scythe. So whats the
real story and
either way could it be possibly made to hit DS, we should have atleast
one spell
that can hit them even though we are not holy. After all clerics have
spells that
can hit non-undead/evil creatures.>>
