I have just discovered that tanning is being released for premium preview tonight. GM Bartlebee will be talking about it at the premium meeting tonight. Here are the pertinent parts of the premium news item. Had I known this was going to happen, I would given you all some advance notice. -Tarragon

GM Bartlebee -- skinner, bundler, and tanner extraordinare -- will be on hand to demonstrate this newest ability. Tanning is scheduled later this week to be released to premium members for a two week preview period (the extended period is due to the complexity of the system, and our desire to give it a thorough test before springing it on everyone). Once tanning is put into preview, you'll be able to purchase supplies from the various furrier shops scattered throughout the realms.
Following his presentation, Bartlebee will be answering questions about tanning. Afterward, we'll have general Q&A session.<<
I believe the only hold up on tanning is the supply shops. My guesstimate would be about two weeks, still, but it really depends on how quickly the QC process finishes and if any problems are found during those checks. I would just say soon, but I know that doesn't hold much meaning anymore. Maybe next year we'll say the same thing about two weeks. :)
