I'm back from DevCon.
After confering with the other combat GMs about tougher natural attacks
it's become clear that it's because creatures are regenerating their
balance much better now. This means creatures are now tougher overall than
they used to be. This means I need to adjust difficulty calculations in
giving out experience in combat.
So, as a test to see if I get the new calculations correct I've altered
weapon exp gain so that it's lower limit is now much lower. You should see
a distinct difference when fighting critters supposedly lower than your
skill ranks. I'll be applying this tweak to the rest of combat skills once
I determine the correct adjustment necessary to justify exp gain with the
risk.
As for parrying an attack dropping balance nearly every time, I'll be
looking into the reason and seeing what might be out of whack and fix it.
You can lose balance from a close call in evasion and possibly for a
partial parry but I'm assuming for the moment that how often that happens
is too high.
