<< could you let us (Moon Mages) percieve Shadowlings or Servants to see
who casted them? >>

Sorry if this is snippy, but I seem to have to say this once a day to
somebody (usually another GM <g>):

Shadowlings do not have "owners." It doesn't matter who summoned them.
They don't know (or care) who summoned them, and after it actually happens,
the system doesn't know (or care) who summoned them. The person who
summoned a shadowling has no more influence over it than anybody else.

<< We are looking for spells that: >>

Thanks Lainn, that made a lot of sense. :)

Just for the sake of whatever, on my "serious consideration" list (not the
"definitely gonna do it" list) there are now 3 paladin spells, 3 WM spells,
2 MM spells, 4 Empath spells, 1 Ranger spell, 6 Cleric spells. More
possibilities may open up for Clerics once we work out the light/dark
quandary.

C'mon Rangers, get it in gear :) I've gotten a lot of suggestions for
spells either very similar to Awaken Forest or GS3 Ranger spells that Zoha
specifically asked me to avoid... surely there've got to be more ideas.

<< War Mage spells are mainly about killing things, or utility spells that
help us kill things. >>

The design of DR's magic system, where you can keep adding more and more
mana to a spell like FB to make it more and more powerful, somewhat reduces
the need for layer after layer of attack spell. If FS was always 1 mana,
FB was always 10, LB was always 20, etc. then it'd be really easy to
predict the future of WM spells -- a 40, a 60, an 80, etc. (And yes, I do
expect spells to require that much mana someday.)

In our system we have no "spell levels." Even the concept of "tiers" is
one that players came up with for their own reference :) Fire Ball in the
hands of someone with 400 TM, PM and harness is most definitely not a "3rd
level spell."

However, we're starting to make plans for a new magic resistance system for
tougher creatures. (Note that I said "starting to make plans" -- this
means no, we are not ready to answer ANY questions about it. <g>)

This will serve to emphasize the difference between MMs and WMs to the
utmost. A Warrior Mage's most effective spells will rely on huge amounts
of mana (there'll be new ways to "collect" it), blasting through the
defenses with brute force. Moon Mages will be more efficient, requiring
less mana, but needing to gradually and subtly weaken the defenses before
going for the kill. Or at least that's the idea. :)
