Alkirwim -- well, my initial reason for doing the juggling system is that I thought it would be fun. :) We were looking for contests for an upcoming festival, and I thought a juggling contest could be fun. Then I thought "Why not let people juggle all the time?" That sounded like a good idea, so the merchant running the contest actually sold sets of juggling balls, rather than just lending them out to contest entrants.
As far as juggling things not being used up, well, no, they're not. I can't think of any reason why they would be, unless I made a set of jugglable apples and you were doing the trick of eating them while you juggled. :) In general, though, you should be able to use one set of juggling things forever unless you lose them.
More important? Well, I have other things that are higher on my priority list right now, but anything that has some requests attached to it has a certain amount of importance. There's more to the game than just bashing and casting and getting rezzed and healed, which is why I like doing these little systems, to let people do something that's not at all related to hunting.
It's true that there are still scripters out there, but the number is several orders of magnitude smaller than it used to be. Keep in mind, too, that a lot of the people who are reported for scripting (meaning that at least one other player thought they were) are actually not. They're feeling anti-social and just don't want to talk, perhaps, but if a GM sends them a message they respond immediately. Not always, of course, but a significant number. There aren't quite as many scripters around as a lot of folks think. No, I'm not saying the problem doesn't exist; we're just discussing magnitude. :)
Tesla -- one of the things I'm reworking is the experience given. I've decided to take pity on the mech lore folks and put it back, so juggling will give both perception and mech lore. Not as much of each, all things considered, but I figure working two skills a little less is better than working one skill a little more. Also you won't have to juggle over and over and over and over. You can, if you want to put on a show for example, but it won't help your experience much more than just doing it occasionally. Yes, the dreaded timer! [cue ominous music] ;) The idea, however, is to figure out how many times you might juggle in X minutes, how much experience you might get for that on the average, and just give it to you as if you had juggled constantly for that long, but not let you gain any new juggling experience for that length of time. So it works out the same without being as tedious.
I have a few other things to do first, but it's still on my list.
