G'day,
As I announced at the Trader Meeting at Simucon, and as many of you already know, there are going to be a couple changes to caravans. These changes went live in Platinum this past Wednesday and will be going live in Prime this week. I am cross posting this in the GM Announcement folder as well as here as they do impact players other than Traders.
There are basically two changes being implemented, either Tuesday or more likely Wednesday:
1) Caravans and pack animals will be able to drag corpses. This will be an ability that is taught to you by one of the guild leaders and there is a minimum circle requirement for its use. The correct syntax is taught by the correct guild leader when they are asked about skill. Only dead players can be tied to a caravan/animal and dragged and anyone who is avoiding being dragged by normal means cannot be tied to the caravan either. Also, if a player meeting those criteria is tied to a caravan and then sets their avoid or becomes living, they will automatically become untied from the caravan.
2) There will now be a chance that a caravan or pack animal will run over someone who is laying down in a room that they enter. I won't go into too many specifics of the system, but some places will have a greater chance than others for people to get run over. Also, not everyone who is prone would get hit...well, not necessarily anyway, though I suppose it could happen. One important note on this. Getting run over by a caravan does not give anyone consent to attack the trader. However, similar to Hands of Justice and calling open pockets, performing actions that are a deliberate attempt to run people over can result in receiving an official warning.
Take care,
Godrich de'Finchal
