As is the case from time to time, real life issues get in the way of our responsibilities as a GM or our ability to commit time to the game. This is the case unfortunately with Atrathien and Brandewynne.

Atrathien has stepped down as GM for the War Mages, and the Magic System. This was 100% at his request, and after my pleading that he not do it. However, I understand his reasons (real life issues) and we have accepted his resignation to both positions.

The same has come about with Brandewynne. Real life issues have caused her to step away from the game for a while and thus she needs to step away from the liaison position.

Neither individuals are leaving the staff, they are simply taking a leave of absence. However, that does mean we are left needing to fill the GM position and the Liaison position for the War Mages.

We have a new liaison that you will be hearing from shortly if you have not already. I do not want to announce that person's name because frankly I do not know what name they will use in the boards here (it is not uncommon to use a different GM name so that regular GM mail goes one place while boards mail goes to another).

I am currently reviewing my options with Zoha for your replacement GM. We have several candidates that are interested, all are excellent candidates. But when we select we have to be realistic and not only consider ability technically, but also a GM's ability to provide vision, leadership, inspiration, and be able to tell you, the customer, "no" when necessary. It's always easy to say "yes", its difficult to say "no" even tho you think we GMs have no problem saying "no." :)

Please continue with your threads as normal, The WM staff is still working on WM issues and systems, and the Liaison will be there to discuss issues with you and bring them to me. In the mean time, the WM staff (Atrathien's assistants) is still working on WM systems.

Some may have noticed that Atrathien was artfully dodging your questions over the last few weeks. This was at my request. I didn't want to make this announcement until we knew who would be replacing him. However, a decision has not been made and it is not fair to keep him dancing in front of you. He has very much wanted to tell you, to the point that him and I have gotten into a could of heated discussions about...he is an excellent GM and he cares about you greatly. He was very upset that I did want him to tell you. So you can blame me, not him. :P
